TO LITTLE RIGGS !

in 2018 while living at the cottage that bares the same name an idea was born over pizza, wine, and the five year plan….. I’ll spare the details but, five years (and a few weeks) later Little Riggs Opened July 2023. Little Riggs is what happens when someone says “you make great food, you should open a restaurant!” Well only a fool would listen to that kind of advice! But……… it got me thinking about “why” that was said. Well it took some time but I finally realized the common thread was the setting. Out of college in a minimal furnished apartment with mismatched silverware, mismatched friends a few chef tricks I brought the restaurants we couldn’t afford to our tables. I got older (maturity still escapes me) and I enjoyed the freedom of cooking unscripted from my employers menus. My menu testers were neighbors, BFF’s and a few clients looking for a private chef. Of course, I can’t forget the intimate dinners where the soft glow of a candle excluded everything but my love Missy, where the conversation turned from “should” open a restaurant to “can” open a restaurant. When I tried to articulate what these experiences should makea restaurant look like I came up with nothing….

…Because it wasn’t a look that I was trying to describe. It was a Vibe.
